Set in the small village of Southwell, close to Portland Bill and the coastal footpath around the Isle of Portland, these charming stone cottages provide a good base for walkers, birdwatchers and fishermen. Gull Cottage, an `upside down' property, features a small balcony from the first floor lounge with sea views, whilst Chapel Cottage, now tastefully converted, features high panelled ceilings and stained glass windows. The bustling resort of Weymouth, with its harbour and beaches, is easily reached, as is the famous Chesil Beach, the beautiful Dorset coastline and the South Dorset Downs. In recent years windsurfing, diving and yachting have grown in popularity and there are often international yachting events taking place in summer months. Shop 1 mile, pub 50 yards.
