Excellent base for exploring Dorset
Situated on the main link between Weymouth and Portland, the house makes an excellent base in which to enjoy Dorset. Just 10 minutes drive is great windsurfing, diving and the Sailing Academy. Within 1/2 mile you can be on Chesil Beach popular for anglers. Birdwatchers can enjoy the two RSPB reserves Radipole and Lodmoor at Weymouth, Portland Bill and Lighthouse is another great bird watching spot. Local shops provide takeaways, fishing tackle, water sports equipment, along with a convenience store, restaurants and pubs. A good walk or a small car or bus trip can take you to the heart of Georgian Weymouth harbour side, with a good number of cafes, shops, pubs and restaurants, from here you can also get the ferry to the Channel Islands and France. The award winning beach and Sealife Centre are great for families. Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum, Abbotsbury Swannery and the Swanage Steam Railway are great family days out. Enjoy many walks along the South West coastal paths. Shops and pubs 100 yards.
