 Forge Cottage
St Clether, near Launceston,United Kingdom
Ta Mill (refs: 18332, 18333, 18334, 19165, 19166 and 19167) is a secluded rural hideaway of Cornish cottages, each with its own character, a delightful combination of stone, slate and exposed beams, nestling in a peaceful hollow of 45 acres on the fringes of Bodmin Moor. Surrounded by rolling countryside, this tranquil setting offers an escape from the pressures of everyday life, where nature thrives. Magnificent birds of prey can be seen swooping down the valley, and nestling swallows can also be spotted. Ewes and lambs gambol in the surrounding fields. A babbling brook meanders through the grounds and into the pretty copse. It continues through a picturesque valley of blossoming gorse and stone outcrops. Take a stroll along the unspoilt nature walk where all you are likely to hear are kestrels and skylarks. Half a mile down stream, you will find Ta Mill's large wildlife pond, with a footpath leading to St Clether Chapel and its ancient Holy well, considered to be the most beautifully situated of all shrines in Cornwall. Ideal for touring Devon and Cornwall, Ta Mill is within 7 miles of the dramatic Heritage coastline of north Cornwall. Explore hidden coves and pretty fishing villages including Port Isaac and Padstow. Relax on a sheltered sandy beach or take in the stunning views as you follow the coastal path from Bude to Rock. Enjoy the world famous Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan, or visit the NT houses and gardens nearby. Pub 2 miles.
