 Vine Cottage
East Mersea, Colchester,United Kingdom
Set in a courtyard on the owner's 10 acre vineyard, visitors to Vine cottage and the Hoploft can choose between relaxing on the beach or more energetically cycling, sailing, windsurfing or walking, all available within easy reach. Mersea Island lies between the estuaries of the Blackwater and Colne rivers, about 9 miles from the County town of Colchester with its castle, museum, zoo and selection of shops and restaurants. Famous for its oysters, fishing and sailing, the island is reached by a causeway which cuts it off from the mainland for short periods during spring/high tides. The island is also ideal for bird watching. Within easy driving distance are Dedham Vale and Constable country, as are the many attractions of Suffolk, but once on the island, you may not want to leave. Popular local fish restaurants are located in West Mersea and visitors also have the opportunity to use the Vineyard's Courtyard café.
All on ground floor: Lounge/kitchen/dining room, 2 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin, shower room with toilet & basin.
