Situated deep in the beautiful countryside, Mattersey is set within 45 minutes from the cathedral cities of both York and Lincoln, along with Sheffield and Nottingham so provides the perfect base to tour all middle England has to offer. Just a few miles from Gainsborough with its fine Old Hall, just 7 miles from Bawtry and just 9 from Retford. This is Pilgrim Father Country and is on the Mayflower Trail. Clumber Park, Epworth (home of Wesley's) and Rotherham with excellent Magna Science Adventure Centre, are a comfortable drive. There are super walks on your doorstep and each cottage boasts its own sitting out area. Shop and pub ¾ mile.
