The Barn is a spacious, converted cottage retaining character and charm throughout, and is only three miles from historic Durham city with its cathedral, meandering cobbled streets, fine shops and eateries. The holiday property benefits from gardens to relax in after a day exploring the countryside throughout Durham, Northumberland and the outlying counties. Access is through electronically operated gates and there is ample parking and a double garage for guests use. The Barn is surrounded by fields with only three other houses at Whitwell Grange, with a distant view of Durham on the horizon. Shincliffe village is only 11/2 miles with pubs and restaurants. The area itself is steeped in history and has many walks and cycle paths from the doorstep . There is stabling for upto four horses strictly by arrangement with the owner. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 1½ miles.
Ground floor: Large lounge with oak floor & beams, dining room, large kitchen, 2 bedrooms - 1 double with access to 1 twin, bathroom with air bath, toilet & basin. First floor: 2 double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower & steam room, separate toilet & basin.
