 Honeysuckle Cottage
Bourton on the Water,United Kingdom
Excellent touring and walking base Very comfortable cottages to welcome you home at the end of the day
These semi-detached cottages are situated on a quiet road yet within walking distance of the numerous attractions of Bourton. A large, enclosed, south-facing garden makes them ideal for a family visit. A favourite pre-breakfast pastime is to stroll, with or without the children, down to the main street to collect the newspaper and then feed the ducks.Bourton is a quintessentially English village with traditional tea and gift shops, restaurants and olde worlde pubs. The gentle shallow River Windrush meanders sedately through the village, and on either side is the village green. Here you can sit, relax and watch the world go by.If you feel more energetic, swimming, horse riding, as well as a children's play barn and a host of other activities (including fishing and golf) are available locally. Visit Brum in the motor museum, the birds in Birdland and do not forget a visit to the pottery. Cheltenham, Oxford and Cirencester, as well as castles, stately homes and an arboretum are convenient for a day out. Approximately 10 miles away, Burford Wildlife Park is popular with visitors of all ages. Real log fires make for a cosy, romantic weekend, and in December, up until the twelfth night, Bourton is magical with the illuminated tree standing in the middle of the river.
