 Poplar Hall Barn
Debenham, Suffolk.,United Kingdom
Situated on a quiet country lane, on the edge of the picturesque and popular village of Debenham and just 3 miles from the Suffolk Tourist Route, this lovely property gives easy access to many places of interest. It is a spacious, comfortable and well-equipped barn conversion that stands detached in the grounds of the owners 16th-century Grade II listed farmhouse, yet retains complete individuality. Poplar Hall Barn sits in one acre of its own garden including a furnished courtyard area with barbecue and enjoys views of the surrounding countryside. The village of Debenham retains the feel of a medieval market town whilst boasting a thriving community, good pubs, restaurants and local shops. There is excellent walking, cycling, fishing and golf available locally. Within easy driving distance are Stonham Barns including the British Birds of Prey Sanctuary and Helmingham Hall. Nearby Framlingham boasts a magnificent castle, dating back in part to the 12th Century, which has sweeping views accross town from its internal wall walkways. On the Suffolk Heritage Coast are the lively towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold. From the Middle Ages, Aldeburgh was a prosperous port and fishing centre, becoming a seaside resort in the early 19th century. The annual Music Festival held in June each year and directed by Benjamin Britten for nearly thirty years gave the town worldwide recognition. Southwold is home to Adnam's brewery, whose horse-drawn drays are often seen about the town. Here, too, are seven `Greens' around which traditionally-built red brick and flint cottages stand - these mark the sites of houses that were destroyed by a great fire in 1659, and which were never rebuilt. Snape Maltings, with its annual music festival, Walberswick and Minsmere RSPB reserve at Dunwich are other places worthy of a visit in the area. There are excellent road links to Ipswich, Diss, Bury St Edmunds, Colchester and Sudbury, with race meetings and the National Stud at Newmarket. Pubs 1-1½ miles.
