With origins dating back to the Middle Ages, Elmham Mill stands in one of the loveliest locations to be found in this part of Norfolk. Straddling the River Wensum, the watermill (which ceased working in the 1960s) is actually situated on an island, where the river divides to flow through and around the mill. Tastefully refurbished, Mill Race Apartment lies on the second floor, with a wonderful bird's eye view of the surrounding SSSI, with its rolling countryside and abundant wildlife - be sure to bring binoculars! Relax in the shared grounds, find a quiet spot along the river bank for a picnic or evening stroll, or tear yourself away from this idyllic location and explore the North Norfolk coast, the Broads, Norwich and the Wensum Valley Trail for excellent cycling and walking.
