Tucked away in the North Norfolk village of Great Walsingham, beautifully renovated and equipped to accommodate large families, this holiday property boasts internal beams, wood-burning stove and spacious open-plan kitchen/dining-room with French doors to terrace, seating area and enclosed lawned garden. The Granary stands attached to a converted mill, within a small complex of granary buildings. Walsingham has a history of pilgrimage, including an abbey, priory ruins and excavated site of the original Holy House. There is walking locally by the river or further afield along the Coastal Path and Peddar's Way. The traditional seaside town of Wells-next-the-Sea (4 miles) has an excellent sandy beach, small working fishing harbour and quay. Sailing courses are also available here. For nature lovers there is Morston Quay, which offers boat trips to Blakeney Point and the opportunity to see the seal colonies, and there are RSPB reserves to visit along the coast. Historical homes including the Royal Sandringham Estate, Holkham, Houghton and Felbrigg are within an easy drive. The historic market town of Holt and the Victorian seaside towns of Sheringham and Cromer (18 miles), Splash Leisure Centre, golf, horse riding, sandy beaches, promenades and pier are all activities that make this a very attractive area to visit. All these towns also offer shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Little Walsingham (1 mile) also has a farm shop, and fresh fish (particularly shell fish) is available locally.
