West Lynch, owned by the same family for more than 300years, is a beautiful thatched farmhouse with a large, south-facing walled garden. Situated amidst stunning landscape with views over Exmoor and Dunkery Beacon, the sea and National Trust woodland, it forms an idyllic base for a holiday. Furnished with a charming mix of both the antique and the modern, with original art works, this romantic retreat is well suited for two or three families, special reunions or celebrations. There are six bedrooms, and ample communal areas for both entertaining and relaxing, as well as games, such as croquet, outside. To enhance the holiday experience, there is even the opportunity (by prior arrangement) for guests to sample the services of a masseur to Wimbledon champions. This part of the Exmoor National Park offers woodland, moors, rivers and the sea, all within walking distance. A cream tea taken in one of the park's villages - Allerford, with its pretty packhorse bridge, Bossington with its National Trust cottages, or Selworthy, described as the most attractive village in England - makes the walk complete. Two miles away is historic Porlock, and beyond that the Porlock Weir. Dramatic coastal walks lead to Lynmouth, passing through high wooded cliffs before plunging down to the `smallest church in England' at Culbourne. This is true Lorna Doone country, where red deer play, buzzards circle the sky and clean fresh air blows in from the Atlantic. A perfect year round destination only 4miles from the seaside resort of Minehead and a little further to the medieval village and castle at Dunster. Lynch Farm Park, with its falcons - always a favourite with children - is on the doorstep. Golf at Minehead and horse riding all around.
