Not far away is the historic town of Bayeux with its tapestry and cathedral, where you can enjoy a relaxing drink in one of the little bars or cafés, or just enjoy wandering around the fascinating streets. A little further west is the city of Caen where you can visit the impressive château, the peace memorial or the busy modern shopping centre. For days out the beaches of Omaha and Utah are a short drive to the north, Mont St. Michel is about an hour southwest and even Paris is just two and a half hours by car or train.
