Close to the attractive town of St. Savinien, on the banks of the River Charente, this pretty house provides a good base for exploring the local countryside. With a simple, cosy interior leading to a private, vine-covered front terrace, it stands in enclosed gardens, facing the owners' house, and shares a swimming pool. In St. Savinien, there are boats and pedaloes to hire, games for children, trout fishing and plenty of cafés and restaurants. A short drive away is the Roman town of Saintes, and Royan with its shops, casino and ferries to the Médoc region. In Rochefort the Corderie Royale is a major attraction, and the old port of La Rochelle with its cobbled streets is not much further.
