This pleasant house, set in a grassy garden, directly overlooks the shore, offering uninterrupted views of the changing colours of the sea and sky from the picture windows of the living room and the terrace round the pool. Furnished in a light modern style, with sofas round a wood-burning fireplace and a convenient corner kitchen, it makes an ideal base for exploring the wild coast line. From the beach here, the Sillon, a kilometre long spit of shingle and sand covered in blue sea holly, juts out into the sea - a haven for wildlife. The surrounding area too has much of interest: nearby Paimpol has a weekly market, narrow streets and port-side restaurants where you can sample sea food. An outing in the restored steam train runs from here daily in the summer affords spectacular views along the estuary of the river Trieux and the château of Roche-Jagu perched high on a rocky hill.
