Reputed to have once been owned by Richard the Lionheart's granddaughter, this 12th century former barn has been lovingly converted with an artistic attention to detail. The nearby market town of Villedieu-les-Pôeles is well-known for its tradition for making copper pots and pans. A little further afield lies the hilltop town of Vire with its 13th century fortified gateway, whilst Normandy's most famous landmark, Le Mont St. Michel, is within an hour's drive of Le Calipel.
