Both the kitchen/dining room and ground floor bedroom open on to a secluded rear terrace, perfect for outdoor meals, and there is an attractive, private enclosed garden, as well as a fenced swimming pool (shared with one other holiday property). The area offers miles of beautiful coastline to explore, with shady pine forests, ideal for walks, cycling or picnics, and La Tranche-sur-Mer provides excellent water sports facilities, including jet-ski hire and a sailing/windsurfing school. For days out there is plenty to choose from, including the chateau and ornamental gardens at St. Cyr, the prehistory museum at St. Hilaire-la-Forêt, and the resort of Les Sables d'Olonne offering boat trips to the beautiful Ile d'Yeu. Further afield are the famous waterways of Green Venice and the history theme park of Le Puy du Fou. The local wine-growing region of Mareuil-sur-Lay offers tempting possibilities for wine tasting.
