Martin Cottage is a spacious and modern property that forms part of the impressively Georgian-built Easton House Hotel. It is situated in the tiny hamlet of Easton just 2 miles from the amazingly wide sandy beach at Bigbury-on-Sea, with its famous Burgh Island which can be reached across the sandy tidal causeway by sea tractor. The Island has a very grand Art Deco hotel and a tiny fisherman's pub. This stretch of coastline is a firm favourite for families of all ages - not only for summer holidays, but it is also a super place to visit in the spring, autumn and winter months too. There is so much to see and do in this area all year around, and the beaches are filled with just about everyone on their holidays who love the sand and sea. In winter this is a ideal property for a winter short break. The beaches are much quieter and the seas are raging with white surf - wrap up warm and follow the coastal paths for an exhilarating walk, followed by a nice pub lunch, and then retire to Martin Cottage in the evening for all the family to get together and enjoy each other's company sitting in the living room the big wood-burning stove ablaze and creating a cosy atmosphere. There are so many pretty villages located in the South Hams area, with little thatched cottages and village pubs, lots of beaches and coves to visit and some nice little towns like Modbury, Kingsbridge and Salcombe. Totnes holds its market days on Friday and Saturday, which are full of colour and interest for everyone. From Kingsbridge visitors can catch a ferry to Salcombe for a daytrip then return in the evening to perhaps enjoy fish and chips on the riverbank in Kingsbridge before returning home. The house itself is light, bright and airy, and is a good size for the number of occupants. Modern in décor and taste, it makes a great gathering place for a larger family, to suit every one in age from young children right up to grandma and granddad. The large enclosed garden is secure for the children, and being nice and sunny makes a lovely area to enjoy eating outdoors. Garden furniture, a table and parasol are provided - and for the children garden toys and a sandpit seem to be very popular. Pub 1 mile. Beaches 2-3 miles.
