 Wolfgar Farm
Cheriton Bishop, Exeter, Devon.,United Kingdom
Situated in a quiet and peaceful location, this beautiful thatched Devon longhouse - which is mentioned in the Doomsday book - is set within 60 acres, 25 of these being woodland. It boasts its own duck pond and has the benefit of an enclosed garden. The views are stunning from this detached cottage, which has many original features, including a panelled dining-room with open fire, spacious kitchen with a fantastic fireplace now housing an Aga, living room with beams and a wood-burning stove, all making this an ideal base for a family get together or celebration. The house is close to the owner's vets practice and also a livery yard (horses are welcome), but still retains privacy. Although no longer a working farm, chickens and ducks still wander around so don't be surprised by the occasional visiting duck. Close to many National Trust properties including Castle Drogo, there are fantastic walks including Fingle Glen. Drewsteignton is worth a visit. Exeter with its magnificent cathedral is some 10 miles from the property; Exeter quay has lovely shops and canoeing is very popular here. Lovely towns and villages are worth visiting. Dartmoor National Park is on the doorstep and bird-watching here is delightful. Pub 3 miles.
Spacious beamed living room with wood-burning stove and sofa bed (for alternative sleeping only). Sitting room with open fire and TV. Large dining-room with open fire.
