Ashcombe’s superbly appointed holiday cottages all have wonderful views over the hills and woodlands of the 2,500-acre agricultural estate, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Endeavour, a spacious farmhouse sleeping 14 people is situated at Woodhouse Farm adjacent to the remaining cottages – all skilfully converted barns. Careful landscaping has provided patios and lawns for both morning and afternoon sun and the properties border a pretty, grassed courtyard with a central fountain. There is an indoor heated swimming-pool with changing rooms as well as a shared hard tennis court. All holiday cottages are well decorated and equipped; most have Italian-tiled floors, oak-beamed ceilings, double glazing, full night storage heating, log fires or electric ‘log-effect’ fires, four-poster beds (not Gretel HXN, Beaver HBBG, Ranger HTW, The Cider Barn HGGL), and en-suite facilities in every cottage (not Beaver HBBG).
