Adjoining another cottage, it has a 4-acre garden with furnished summer house at the top, boasting fabulous views over Exmoor and also has pretty lawns. Bordered by a babbling stream, there are also a further 5acres of land for visitors to enjoy. Original features abound, with beams, inglenook fireplaces, a bread oven, and a large butcher's block in the farmhouse-style kitchen all helping to uphold its essential character. In an idyllic setting, it nestles on the edge of Haldon Hill, just at the foot of the Lawrence Tower. Ideal for large families and groups alike, this is a spacious and comfortable holiday base for anyone wishing to escape the hustle of modern day living. Whatever the season, this is a wonderful area to explore. From magnificent coasts, with dramatic scenery and stretching sands, to picturesque countryside, filled with a wealth of wildlife and pretty villages, there is something special for every visitor. The wild beauty of Exmoor and Dartmoor are not only accessible but a must for all with a yen for wide open spaces. Torquay and Paignton, both within 20miles, offer sandy beaches, coastal walks and water sports. Dawlish Warren, Powderham Castle, and the ancient city of Exeter's magnificent cathedral are within 10 miles. Further afield, Honiton of lace-making fame, and Ottery St Mary - where S.T. Coleridge, author of The Rime of The Ancient Mariner spent his formative years - are well worth visiting. As are any of the numerous National Trust properties scattered all around this historic area.
