The Solway marshes are extremely popular with bird watchers and fishermen, nature lovers, and watersport enthusiasts are all well catered for. Alternatively relax in the grounds which are walled, fenced and gated with plenty of sitting out areas. Centrally located between the popular lakeside town of Keswick and the historic city of Carlisle (both 23 miles) this is an excellent location for extended families and groups of friends wishing to explore the Lake District, the Scottish Border and the Cumbrian Coast. The interesting and traditional market town of Cockermouth (birthplace of Wordsworth) is 11 miles. Pubs 1½ miles.
