Customer Reviews

this was a fabulous first class cottage in a lovely location. The cottage is well equipped, well thought out and with plenty of space. A great location with easy access to explore the area and castles.
could benefit from another loo as there were 8 adults (4 men 4 women)in our party and we were constantly queueing for the bathroom, especialy in the morning and after a long day out riding.
"plenty of parking space but the gravel makes it a bit tricky for a motorbike - but manageable. The third double bedroom is small and just about fits a double bed with the radiator at the bed head. The two double bedrooms are spacious and there is a twin room."

Finding that the cottage was set in its own grounds and was totally private the deer woke us at 3am barking and the garden was full of wildlife although we didnt see any red squirrels.
would benefit from a separate loo and the gravel is not good for parking motorbikes on also could have done with the use of the garages as the wind blew over one of our bikes !!! oven gloves and a designated vac for the fire, word of warning re the hot water when in the shower DONOT trun the taps on!!!!!! the combi boiler will take the water to the taps FIRST so whoever is in the shower gets frozen !!!!!
"think about food as the shops are not on the doorstep also coal kindling for the logburner it is only small but very warm .....you need to get some as the fuel for the fire is not included. a good map of the area is essentail or you will miss some historic sites . CHILLINGHAM CASTLE IS EXPENSIVE !!!!! £8.50 PER HEAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

One of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in. Loads of space, secluded, warm, and in a great location with lots of wildlife in the large garden and adjacent wood. Surrounding scenery is gorgeous. Highly recommended.
Nothing really
"Great cafe in Millfield. Had a super breakfast there to save cooking on the day we left and its also a tourist information centre. Cragside, a National Trust property just north of Morpeth is well worth visiting, as are Heatherslaw and Etal just up the road. Nearest shop/ supermarket is the co-op in Wooler. The butcher shop, Farm to Freezer, also in Wooler has some super food. Try their Scotch pies.
Really enjoyed a boat trip from Seahouses to the Inner Farne Islands to see the baby seals."
