Chapel House

Newton-by-the- Sea, Alnwick, Northumberland.,United Kingdom

Set in the courtyard of Newton Hall (a mid 18th-century Georgian mansion), these three very different cottages offer an ideal base for a lovely holiday. Wilford HouseMPM and Fife CottageMPN were the former coach house and stables, whilst Chapel HouseMPO was, as its name implies, built as a church. Amidst a tranquil setting of Scots pine trees that line the driveway, the properties are set in almost 3 acres of grounds with open countryside to the rear. They are within walking distance to two sandy beaches, owned by the National Trust. The area is renowned for its tranquil walks, breathtaking countryside and delightful scenery, as well as its wildlife, long sandy beaches, golf courses and - of course - castles. The list is endless, but most of all peace and quiet are the most welcomed attraction when visiting this popular county. The area around Newton Hall has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering something for everyone. A visit to Holy Island is a must or a trip to the Farne Islands to the Wild Bird Sanctuary, will keep visitors busy and entertained. Alnwick - with its magnificent castle and gardens - is easily accessible, as are the towns of Bamburgh and Seahouses. Edinburgh can be reached within a 40-minute car drive and Newcastle in under an hour. Pubs ¼ mile.

Open-plan living/dining-room with small modern kitchen area. Bathroom/W.C. with over-bath shower. First floor: Two double bedrooms. Twin-bedded room.
