Hollymount House

Bransford, Nr Worcester, Worcs.,United Kingdom

This magnificent, 16th-century property, full of character, enjoys far-reaching views to the hills from its large mature garden. Set at the end of a private drive, it has been carefully restored and refurbished to an exceptionally high standard. Close to Worcester (4 miles), a day's exploration there will reveal a wealth of local history, where timbered Tudor and elegant Georgian buildings stand defiantly amongst the invasion of modern architecture. A wealth of shops provide a shopper's delight - with the award-winning Crowngate mall dominating the city centre. Spared from such development are the meadows around the splendid cathedral, an interesting composite of many architectural styles, and tucked behind the cathedral, the Royal Worcester Porcelain complex can be found. The porcelain factory (starting in the mid 18th-century) was the city's main industry, and the complex comprises the factory itself, together with displays of old Worcester porcelain in period settings. Also of interest at Worcester are the Civil War Centre, Museum of Local Life and the Worcester Museum and Art Gallery. Great Malvern is not far away and its Winter Gardens Pavilion is one of the main venues for the range of events held in the town throughout the year - notably the Almeida Drama Festival. Other places of interest include the Three Counties Showground and the Morgan Motor Company. The surrounding area has been made particularly famous by the composer Edward Elgar, who lived in an adjacent village and gained inspiration for his famous Enigma Variations, passages of which have come to represent the English countryside. Hereford and Gloucester (also associated with Elgar and the Three Choirs Festival) are nearby, and Stratford-upon-Avon is within easy reach. Marvellous walking in the neighbouring Malvern Hills. Golf course nearby.

Spacious sitting-room. Cosy dining-room. (Both with beams and inglenook fireplaces.) Modern fitted kitchen. French doors from dining-room and kitchen to conservatory/breakfast room. Utility room. Study. Shower room/W.C. First floor: Four pretty bedrooms; one double with en-suite bathroom/W.C. and shower attachment, further double and two twin-bedded rooms. Bathroom/W.C. with shower attachment.
