These four adjoining holiday cottages are situated in a beautiful moorland village in the north Pennines, just a mile from Derwent Reservoir, which is ideal for sailing and fishing. Converted from former stables, they are set in the grounds of the owners’ home, nestling alongside the Burnhope Burn where it tumbles down from Blanchland Moor. The cottages are furnished and equipped to a good standard and make an ideal base for exploring the scenery of the surrounding area, with its moors, streams, and wealth of historic remains. Three miles away is the historic and unspoilt hamlet of Blanchland which grew up around the abbey. Close by is Hadrian’s Wall with its fascinating Roman forts and information centre whilst Beamish, 15 miles, is the award-winning open air museum which tells the social history of the north of England.
