Ideal for family get-togethers and group gatherings, this detached barn conversion boasts its own garden, bordered by flowers, with a small, furnished patio area. Set within the grounds of the owners' home close to a few other properties, it is furnished to a high and comfortable standard, and has a wonderful entrance hall, galleried landing, large living and dining-room, and an en-suite master bedroom. Set in the village of Stonesfield (where stone tiles were quarried from the 16th to the early 20th-century), there are many walks to be enjoyed, which span across the Evenlode Valley, along the Oxfordshire Way to Charlbury, and in the opposite direction, following the Roman Akeman Street to nearby Blenheim Park (and Palace). Follies Barn is an ideal place to stay for the Blenheim Horse Trials, and as a base when the Cheltenham Races are on, and there are plenty of activities and attractions in the surrounding area to keep oneself busy - riding, fishing, golf, walking and theatre visits to name but a few. There are also many National Trust houses and gardens to visit. Historic Woodstock is but a short drive away, where visitors will find many shops, restaurants and pubs, in addition to the Oxfordshire County Museum. Stratford-upon-Avon is within easy driving distance, and is famous world-wide as the birthplace of Shakespeare. The many attractions associated with the bard include the Birthplace Museum, Holy Trinity Church (the burial place of Shakespeare) and the three Royal Shakespeare Company theatres. Cheltenham is within an hour's drive, home to the famous Pump Room and racecourse and Long Hanborough is home to a main-line train station, for trips to the university town of Oxford and the capital, London. Excellent village store and two good pubs within Stonesfield.
