Adjacent to the largest village green in Wiltshire, this attractive courtyard has been renovated from the barns and stables of one of the oldest farms in the village, dating back to the 17th century. The properties (Refs PEEA, PEEB, PEEC, PEED) now offer a modern and convenient base from which to explore the delights of Wiltshire and the surrounding area. Poulshot is a quiet, typically English village, with a thriving local community and from here activities such as clay pigeon shooting, hiring a canal boat, horse riding, cycling and walking are available. Within the village itself there are health and beauty treatments available at a converted barn, and farms where local produce can be bought. The village pub (50 yards) serves good food and traditional cask ales. Caen Hill is just one mile away, with the famous Caen Hill flight of 29 locks on the Kennet and Avon canal, which rise 237 feet in 2½ miles. Devizes (2 miles) is an historic market town offering a wide choice of shops, restaurants, pubs and canal-side activities. It also home to one of the best breweries in the country. Just a short drive away, visitors will find Stonehenge, Avebury and Silbury. Roundway Hill - where the Cromwell battles took place - overlooks Devizes. Other nearby attractions include Longleat Safari Park, Salisbury cathedral and the Roman baths and new spa in the fine city of Bath. Lacock Abbey, Bowood and Stourhead are stately homes and gardens which are well worth a visit.
