For couples who fancy something out of the ordinary, this 19th-century listed folly stands in the garden of the owners' house and enjoys, from its roof-top terrace, wonderful views over the pretty village of Hambledon (birthplace of cricket!) and shared use of a 30ft indoor heated swimming-pool, open all year round. There are many good walks nearby, and just 13 miles away are the sea and the coastlines of Hampshire and West Sussex - including picturesque Chichester Harbour. Easy touring to stately homes at Beaulieu and Broadlands, and spectacular gardens at Exbury. Portsmouth (13miles) boasts Nelson's Victory, the Mary Rose, a wide range of amenities, a fascinating harbour and ferries to the Isle of Wight. Historic cathedral cities of Winchester and Chichester half-hour drive.
