The hamlet of Acton Pigot offers cycle hire for exploring the lovely Shropshire lanes, and other activities locally include gliding, horse riding, walking and golf. Just 15 miles away is Bridgnorth offering the Severn Valley Railway, where the beauty of the River Severn can be enjoyed from a steam-hauled train.Within 15 miles is Ironbridge with its 10 unique museums which tell the story of the Industrial Revolution, and Church Stretton with the Long Mynd and Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, where a 19th-century farm is recreated complete with heavy horses, vintage machinery and rare breeds. Craven Arms is home to Stokesay Castle, the finest, best preserved 13th-century fortified manor house in England, as well as the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre which is ideal for all family.
