 Meal House
Tugford, Craven Arms, Shropshire.,United Kingdom
Tugford Farm is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, deep in the Corvedale Valley and overlooked by the Brown Clee Hill, one of A.E. Housmans `Blue Remembered Hills'. Set on a family-run working farm, and converted, both barns have been furnished and decorated to a high standard whilst retaining their charm and character with stone walls, exposed oak beams and trusses. Meal House was originally used to store grain, which was ground and mixed for the farm animals, whilst Trap Cottage was used to store the farm's horse and trap with the upstairs area providing a hay bed for the groom/farm hand. Each property has access to a pretty courtyard with sunny positions to sit outside and enjoy watching the horses and the world go by. Tugford is an ideal base for country lovers, families and couples, with walking and cycling routes nearby including Long Mynd, Brown Clee and Stiperstones. The market town of Ludlow - renowned for its restaurants, gourmet eating, food fairs, castle, timbered buildings and history - is nearby. Much Wenlock with its antique market, medieval buildings and 12th-century priory is within 10 miles, and The Secret Hills Discovery Centre in Craven Arms is well worth a visit. Alternative places of interest include Bridgnorth's Cliff Railway, and the Severn Valley Steam Railway. Cardingmill Valley in Church Stretton and Acton Scott Working Farm Museum as well as the ten Iron Bridge Gorge Museums make for good visits, whilst children will adore the Ludlow Leisure Centre and Mickey Millers Crazy Maize Maze and Play Barn. Leisure pursuits available include fishing, golf and horse riding in abundance - all just within a short drive. For eating out, there is a selection of local pubs serving a variety of fare from family meals to à la carte romantic evening meals. Tugford Farm provides the perfect venue for year-round holidays and breaks, where a warm welcome awaits.
