Visitors can explore at their leisure the private lawns and woodland which surround the property. There are a wealth of activities to be enjoyed in this area renowned for its sunny climate and many excellent golf courses are close at hand. Sailing and other watersports can be enjoyed at Lossiemouth and Findhorn. The lively market town of Elgin still has its medieval street plan, with a cobbled marketplace. Superb shopping, cinema and good restaurants can also be found in Elgin. The surrounding area boasts many sandy beaches with some of the best to be found in Lossiemouth and Findhorn, and of course the Moray Firth dolphins are a popular attraction for visitors to this area. Castles, stately homes and distilleries are abundant as well as good walking, most notably on the Speyside Way and traffic-free cycling can also be enjoyed. Inverness is within easy driving distance. There is fishing on the River Spey and Findhorn.
