Situated only a minute's walk from the shore, this detached and spacious property stands in extensive and mature gardens. The area is well known for its outdoor activities in particular sailing (both dinghies and yachting), windsurfing, canoeing, climbing and walking. For the more serious walker, Kilcreggan is close to several Munroes, including The Cobbler and Ben Lomond. With Scotland's first National Park, Loch Lomond (25 mins) close by, there are plenty of challenges for walkers in the area, including the ninety two mile West Highland Way, whilst the route up Ben Lomond offers scope to `Munro Baggers' - climbers of mountains over 3000 feet. Nearby Helensburgh is a traditional seaside town and boasts Charles Rennie Mackintosh's Hill House (NT), which is well worth a visit. Within easy driving distance lie Stirling, Inveraray Castle, the shores of Loch Lomond and the lovely Trossachs area. Nearby Balloch Castle Country Park covers 200 acres, with nature trails, guided walks and views of the loch and castle, which was built in 1808 and now includes a visitor centre. Also well worth a visit and easily accesible is the seaside town of Dunoon. The town plays host to the Cowal Highland Gathering, the largest of its kind in the world. The grand finale of this amazing event is the spectacle of the massed pipes and drums of more than 150 bands marching through the streets of the town. Pubs ½ mile.
