 Chez Howe
Olette, Pyrénées-Orientales,France
On the edge of the picturesque mountain village of Canaveilles, this small converted farmhouse has rustic charm - stone walls, woodburning stove and beamed ceilings all add to its character. It stands in grounds of 1.5 acres amidst cherry and walnut trees, and boasts two sun terraces for al-fresco meals, or for enjoying the stunning views to Mt. Canigou. Canaveilles is situated high up in the Pyrénées, reached for the last 3km by a single laned, tarmac'd mountain road. For those who enjoy walking, there are wonderful marked paths in this region, or for enjoying the scenery in a less energetic fashion, take the 'Little Yellow Train' through the mountains from the fortress town of Villefranche.
