The nearest beach, is just 1500m away but up and down the coast there are several to be explored. If you are a seafarer, from Peniche, you may book an excursion to the Berlenga island, a well preserved natural park. Also, inside the estate there are restaurants and bars as well as a small shop. For a bit of culture the walled town of Óbidos is well worth the trip as well as Caldas da Rainha where you will fall for its delightful ceramics as well as Art Museums. The monasteries of Alcobaça and Batalha are within easy access and Lisbon (90 kms - all motorway) is not to be missed either.
