In an elevated position, with stunning sea views across the tidal inlet of Loch Carron to the mountains above Attadale deer forest, this spacious and beautifully-appointed property has its own garden and half-acre of grounds with children's play area. It is very comfortable and well equipped - each of the four twin and double bedrooms has its own colour television and en-suite facilities. Half a mile away, the town of Lochcarron is full of white-washed houses with colourful gardens and is home to the tartan mill of the renowned Lochcarron Weavers. There are pubs, restaurants and shops within walking distance, and a good lochside golf course (9 holes), with magnificent views. Fishing and riding are also available locally. Benalbanach is ideally located to explore the magic of the Western Highlands and Islands of Scotland. The beauty and solitude of the sparsely populated Applecross Peninsula is a short drive away - reached via a spectacular drive over Britain's highest mountain pass (2,053 feet). Red deer, mountain hare and ptarmigan may be encountered on the drive to the summit. A 5-mile descent to the coastline leads to a ruined village and coral beach, and an excellent lunch stop at the pub in Applecross. A drive further north, through Glen Shieldaig, to Torridon (22 miles) is rewarded by some of the best scenery in Scotland, set beside soaring peaks and awesome mountain ridges ranged around tranquil lochs. The nearby Countryside Centre is the gateway to a massive mountain nature reserve. To the south of Lochcarron, the Isle of Skye is reached via a bridge over the Kyle of Lochalsh (23 miles). The NT village of Plockton, of Hamish Macbeth fame, is 18 miles.
