The surrounding area is one of natural beauty; there are unspoilt hills, glens and welcoming villages where a dram may be sampled in friendly company. The miles of interesting coastline may be explored by sea or land, and ancient castles abound, such as Carnasserie and Dunadd Hillfort. The Gardens at Ardmaddy, one of the `Glorious Gardens of Argyll and Bute', at their best in the spring are complemented by Ancala, over the famous Atlantic Bridge on the Isle of Seil, and Arduaine (NT), some 30minutes by boat or car. Two golf courses, riding, a wide range of shops, swimming-pool, restaurants within a 30-minute drive. Oban, 12miles, is the Gateway to the Islands with regular boat trips.
