 Gorries Lair
Spean Bridge, Inverness-shire.,United Kingdom
Gorries Lair, named after a legendary farm tenant in the 16th century, is a splendid old Highland stone building, with fine views of the Nevis range of mountains. Restored to modern standards, the cottage is set in the secluded 16-acre grounds of Tirindrish House, famed as the home of Donald MacDonell, who launched the Jacobite rebellion in 1745 and was hanged for his valiant bid to aid Prince Charlie. Gorries Lair is a perfect base for touring the Highlands. Ben Nevis mountain gondola is only 10 minutes away. There is plenty to do within close proximity: Wonderful walks and cycle tracks, like the great Glen Way, climbing, fishing, riding and in summer, the Jacobite Steam train from Fort William.
Compact dining-room with ornamental granite fireplace and kitchen area. Twin-bedded room. Shower room/W.C. Open-tread stairs to first floor: Living room with Velux windows. Double bedroom with sloping ceiling. Bathroom/W.C. with over-bath shower.
