This spacious 17th century stone cottage, with exposed wooden beams and open fire, is situated in Bors de Montmoreau, in the peaceful countryside of the Charente, a few kms from the town of Ribérac. From the gravelled terrace there is a nice view over the surrounding maize and sunflower fields.
The lawned garden in front of the house provides some shade on hot summer days but you can also choose to have a refreshing swim in the 10 x 5m private outdoor pool. About 8km from the property lies the village of Aubeterre considered among the most beautiful of France, with an impressive Monolith Church. Built on a hillside, nearby Chalais is known for its market and its old town quarter.
There is a nice beach on the banks of the River Dronne, where kayaking is available. The area also offers a golf course. For a days excursion you can drive to Cognac with its interesting Musée de Cognac or to Barbezieux, known for its Eau-de-Vie, confectionary and Marrons Glacés.
