The property also provides an excellent touring base; situated between St. Chinian, famous for its AOC wine and St. Pons-de-Thomières, a pretty town which grew up around a Benedictine abbey founded in 936.
Day excursions could include a visit to the beautiful lakes around Le Salvatat. Wander around the historical town of Béziers where the Canal du Midi passes over the river Orb, already a thriving city when the Romans arrived and colonised it in 35 BC. Alternatively take a trip to laze on the golden sandy beaches of the Mediterranean (67km).
