Although on the sea front in a family resort, it is far enough away from the bars and restaurants (500m) for it to remain peaceful. St. Pierre is one of only 3 resorts surrounded by the Clape Mountains, a 700ft high massif towering above the sea, one of the lesser known beauty spots in the Languedoc region.
Head inland to discover numerous Cathar castles and probably the nicest and most friendly historical town in the region, Narbonne. Day excursions could include soaking up even more history in Montpellier, Perpignan and Carcassonne, or a trip to Spain to discover the beautiful town of Barcelona.
