Excursions within a short drive could include, Carcassonne (50km) with its world famous and unique medieval city, which inspired Walt Disney for the castle in his film "Sleeping Beauty". Béziers, (28km) the historical wine capital of Languedoc, already a thriving city when the Romans arrived in 35BC.
Narbonne, with its impressive Abbey, a very pleasant town to wander around in the shade of the plane trees. There are Cathar Castles to be discovered and the golden sandy beaches await only 28km away.
