The nearby beaches of Utah and Omaha offer large expanses of golden sands and are famous as the D-Day landing points for U.S. troops during the Second World War. The historic town of Bayeux, home of the Bayeux Tapestry and magnificent gothic cathedral is also a must see for visitors.
