There is a small river just behind and visitors can watch birds, rabbits and occasional Muntjak deer from the windows and verandah. Furnished to a high standard, the lodge offers lovely, warm accommodation midway between Bury St Edmunds (Georgian Theatre, abbey and gardens, museums and markets)
and the historic city of Norwich. Bressingham Gardens and Steam Park, Ickworth House (NT), nature reserves, and good walking are all nearby.
