Culgaith is right in the heart of the Eden Valley at the foot of the Pennine Range with Cross Fell, the highest point of the Pennine Way.
Places to visit close by include Brougham Castle and the Ostrich Farm. There are also various shows throughout the summer and the farmers markets throughout the year. Further afield but within easy reach are the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian's Wall and Borders of Scotland, also the Settle to Carlisle Railway runs through the village.
