These attractive stone cottages were formerly a farm building and are now furnished and decorated to a good standard, making a comfortable base for a relaxing holiday. Each one has a small patio with garden bench facing onto the fields and are located in the sunniest and driest corner of Ireland. These delightful cottages are just over 1 mile from the charming, picturesque, seaside fishing village of Kilmore Quay, and are just 15 miles from Rosslare Harbour making it possible to enjoy a relaxing break in Ireland without a long drive. They are adjacent to the owners' dairy farm and B & B, and overlook lush pasture with horses grazing peacefully. Kilmore Quay is a pretty seaside village with quaint thatched cottages, a picturesque harbour, a golden beach, sand dunes and a good choice of lively pubs and restaurants, some specialising in sea food dishes. There is a maritime museum open in the summer, and this is a mecca for sea fishermen with fishing from the shore or from boats. There are also boat trips to the Saltee Islands which are a renowned bird and wildlife sanctuary. Scuba diving, golf and riding are all available locally. For walkers, there is the Wexford Coastal Path, or for the less energetic, a short stroll along the dunes is ideal. The historic town of Wexford, famous for its Opera Festival, is 14 miles, and offers a good selection of shops and restaurants. A visit to both the Irish National Heritage Park and the Wild Fowl Sanctuary on the outskirts of Wexford are highly recommended. This scenic area boasts numerous golden beaches and makes a good base for touring Waterford, Kilkenny and Wicklow. Noteworthy historic attractions include Kikenney Castle, the Hook Lighthouse, Dunbrody Famine Ship, Kennedy Homestead and Tintern Abbey. For a really memorable day, you can visit the delights of Ireland's capital city, Dublin , as both Wexford and Roslare have a regular train service.
