These quaint stone holiday homes are situated within a converted monastery which is adjacent to the ancient Round Tower of St Declan in the charming seaside village of Ardmore. St. Declan founded Ireland's earliest Christian settlement in Ardmore, and the village has many fascinating historic relics including an ancient well, ruined church and graveyard. A short walk down the hill brings you to the village centre with its golden beach, fishing harbour, famous pottery studio plus the shops, pubs and restaurants. There is a wonderful cliff walk complete with breath taking views and a ship wreck. The surrounding countryside is glorious with pretty coves and beaches in abundance, and the forests and lakes of the Comeragh and Knockmealdown Mountains are within 25 miles. There are a number of sign posted scenic routes to follow in your car such as the Nire Valley Drive and the Vee Drive. There is the magnificent estuary of the River Blackwater at Youghal and boat trips are available in the summer. Fishing, golf and riding are all available locally. This makes a good base for touring throughout the counties of Cork, Waterford and Tipperary. The lively towns of Youghal and Dungarvan offer a good selection of shops and restaurants. The area has many interesting attractions including Lismore Castle, Waterford Crystal, Blarney Castle and Stone, the Jamieson Whiskey Centre and the Fota Island Wildlife Park. Both Waterford and Cork Airports are within 45 miles.
