Fruit Hill lies in wooded countryside between the town of New Ross (9 miles) and the seaside village of Arthurstown (6 miles). These charming holiday cottages are on the owner's dairy farm, and overlook mature gardens with beautiful trees where peacocks roam freely. They are in separate areas of the garden and each has its own sitting out area. This scenic part of Ireland boasts numerous beaches including the magnificent Duncannon Strand (7 miles), and the gorgeous coves of the Hook Peninsula including Dollar Bay and Booley Bay. The gardens of Kilmokea and the JFK Arboretum are close by, and there are numerous historic sites to explore including the JFK Homestead, Dunbrody Abbey, Tintern Abbey and the famous Hook Lighthouse. Golf, fishing and horse riding locally, and in the summer, enjoy a mini cruise down the River Barrow. It is a 40 mile drive from Rosslare Harbour and makes a good base for touring Waterford, Kilkenny and Wexford.
This quaint stone cottage has a large open plan living area featuring a magnificent stone fireplace with woodburning stove. It is delightfuly furnished and decorated and overlooks the gardens and lush countryside. A winding staircase leads to the cosy sleeping area which has a low ceiling, making this an unusual romantic retreat.
