Ecclefechan is a small village not far from the A74, making it a good base from which to tour this area of Southern Scotland, while the coast of Dumfries and Carlisle is only a short drive away.
Further afield are Edinburgh and Glasgow, both of which make enjoyable day trips. The local beauty spot of Hoddam Castle has a good golf course, woodland walks, and the village itself has shops and pubs.
