Walk along the promenade and the local Waterville beach or you can visit Derrynane National Park, 7 miles away, where you will find some of Ireland's best beaches. Ballinskelligs, also 7 miles, has more stretches of golden sandy beaches. The area is very popular with walkers, especially hill walkers, and the Kerry Way walking route is within easy access, or alternatively there are numerous scenic drives in the local area whether you head into the majestic Kerry mountains which surround Waterville, or take the coastal routes with their spectacular sea views.
