Sligo's scenic Atlantic coast has some well-known surfing beaches, including Strandhill, Rosses Point and Enniscrone, also popular for their golf courses. Sligo, with a heritage going back 6,000 years, is an attractive town with good bars and restaurants, theatres, art galleries and delicatessens. You will find on-site boating and coarse fishing, birdwatching and walking opportunities. Within easy reach are beautiful beaches, archaeological sites, riding schools, trout lakes and four championship golf courses. Traditional music and dancing sessions are often held nearby.
